Testimonials

Brit Benjamin

"My session with Seth was my first experience with Feldenkrais and I was so incredibly impacted by the way he coached me to listen to my body and seek my own physical ease. Even by Zoom, Seth was tracking minor shifts in my body language/posture and he supported my developing a deeper understanding of my own body by reflecting his observations and providing me with both insight and engaging exercises to feel into myself. I think doing this work with Seth in an ongoing way would strengthen my self-awareness, even beyond the somatic level, and I'd learn to move with more ease and comfort. As a practitioner, Seth is compassionate, clear, and knows what he is talking about. I'm often a skeptic but I experienced Seth as a well-informed, attuned, and creative expert. I also just found the first session fun and fascinating so I look forward to more. Thank you, Seth, and see you soon!"

"I was following and greatly appreciating Seth's reflections on bodies, life, and relationships from his emails, and eventually joined some of his online classes and had private sessions. First out of curiosity for how exploring with him could enhance my awareness of my body, life, and relationships, and eventually seeking relief with leg pain. Seth does an amazing job of guiding, with great curiosity, an exploration of whatever the issue or topic is. I feel expertly led, letting me relax and listen more deeply, as Seth helps me discover what's alive and relevant for me in greater detail. It helps me directly experience my body's and system's capacity to adapt, integrate, and organize virtually anything through exploring my experience of movements. I'm very picky about practitioners I'll work with, and Seth is excellent at welcoming any dimensions of the experience (physical, mental, emotional, etc.) to help support holistic refinement in my body, mind, and living. Exploring with Seth in groups or one on one always leaves me more present, in tune with life, and inspired to play with how using my attention differently can enhance virtually any and ever part of living. Through working with Seth, my leg pain has alleviated, breathing improved, and my throat relaxed more for speaking. I also find my disposition with life enhanced - more generally fluid and stable in body and mind, and more free to experience and flow with whatever is showing up in my world. If you're a curious, open person, aware that your presenting issue could be showing up in numerous seemingly unrelated ways, I highly recommend working with Seth if you need some extra support. If you're not as open and tuned into the holistic nature of things, I recommend working with Seth even more."

"Seth is an amazing teacher with a depth of knowledge about the body and movement that is rare. I've had one to one session's with him and attended many of his workshops and what I love about Seth's sessions are the way he breaks things down to easefully share his clear deep understanding of the body. That means he can guide you to really get to heart of issues going on within your own body. His attention to detail, use of language, creativity and intuitive approach always make for sessions to be fun, insightful and informative. I am often left with more questions than I started with which as a movement teacher myself leads me into further explorations myself at home. I highly recommend Seth his work is very enriching, always interesting and deeply nourishing."

"My experience with Seth I first started working with Seth several years ago when I was recovering from two separate accidents, one that left me with a broken pelvis and the other a broken ankle. Although I been cleared for normal life by physical therapists, I was still having balance issues and episodes of back pain, especially on long car trips. I also had a hard time walking up and down stairs without hand railings. Using the Feldenksrais method, Seth helped me find new functional ways to move. Over time, my back problems disappeared, and I can now go up and down stairs without hand railings. But I wanted more. While I started with Seth to address my back and balance issues, I have continued with him because our regular sessions have improved my overall sense of well-being and enabled me to maintain my active lifestyle. At 76, I enjoy long walks, yoga, and strength training with very few aches and pains. Seth has proved a creative guide to helping me explore how my bones and nervous system are put together. We often don't know where we are going when we start a session, but every time I end up feeling more comfortable and capable. When I started this practice, I didn't realize how good normal could feel. At my age, this is a real gift."

"I went to Seth for low back pain. I had been suffering from back pain from a disc herniation. It was painful when I tried to lean forward to pick things up from the floor. I had tried Pilates and consulted physical therapy but it did not improve much. A friend introduced Seth to me and we started our consultation through an online meeting. Before trying the Feldenkrais Method, I had been taught to exercise/move in "correct" postures, and to bear the discomfort as it might be a process of waking up the "correct" muscles. But in our Feldenkrais sessions, Seth guided me to focus on my body image and awareness. Using slow, small and gentle movements, I discovered an alternative and more comfortable way of using my body, ex. Breathing, sitting on/getting up from a chair. I usually sensed better body awareness at the end of the sessions. My back pain gradually improved and faded away. I kept doing sessions with Seth in order to build more strategies to help by myself. Seth is very considerate. I greatly appreciate his help. I have gained a better sense of my body and its connection to my surroundings, therefore a better method of using it more wisely."

"Seth came highly recommended and did not disappoint! I was impressed with how in tune with my body he was able to be even over a Zoom session. His soothing and welcoming presence led me into experience that was surprisingly easeful and enlightening. Even after one session I have a newfound awareness of my body that very much aligns with and enhances my mindful meditation practice. I would recommend working with Seth to anyone who is seeking a deeper connection with their own body that is both gentle and healing. Thank you, Seth!!!"

"I love how Seth led with very a specific concentration on exactly what I need to concentrate on to improve on. He took the time and interest to focus on how increase my ability to speak up when I need to speak up! The movement meditations that he taught me are very calm, and grounding. Plus, he taught me a way to practice on my own without taking a lot of time or effort. I can easily remember these practices and repeat them while I'm doing other things during the day, which makes them very practical for every-day-life. I am definitely looking forward to working with Seth again and highly recommend that you work with him too!"

"I knew a little bit about the Feldenkrais method when I met Seth. It was one of those 'intuitive hits' that guided me to experience his teaching. As I get older, ease of movement is more difficult, the old patterns keep coming back and haunt and limit my motion. Seth encourages new ways to move. He is very skilled at the work he presents, he is passionate and eager to help and to learn from sessions he gives. I felt very comfortable with dialoguing with him and working through issues I was presenting in our encounter. Through talking we settled into a deeper resonance and I felt a holding was created. I have been involved in different somatic modalities and it is always a gift to be met. My sense is he is very good at meeting people with whatever level of experience they have. Feldenkrais work is very precise and clear. It works at the nervous system level. Seth describes this work, as he is doing it and how it connects with one's total experience. As I sit here about 24 hours after the session, I feel a lot more freedom and ease of movement. I have less restriction in my lower back. I feel younger, my joints are moving more smoothly. Seth also followed up with YouTube videos of the lesson and a ton of other resources. He is someone I will return to soon, and can highly recommend."
