"I don't like to write negative reviews about small businesses, but I can't stop thinking about how inappropriate and unprofessional my experience was with Comuni Acupuncture. I had just moved to the area from Manhattan and was looking for a local acupuncturist, especially as I'm in my third trimester and wanted support both now and postpartum. Comuni came recommended in a local moms group, and the clinic looked clean and conveniently located, so I booked an appointment. The next day, someone from the clinic (I'm assuming the owner, since she handled the insurance details) called to clarify my coverage. After confirming my coinsurance, she asked where I was delivering my baby. When I said I was planning a home birth, her tone immediately shifted. She made several judgmental and unsolicited comments about home birth, sharing "horror stories," warning me about what I "should" do, and even saying she and the practitioner were "weary" of home births. She specifically said she would never support a VBAC home birth. This was incredibly unprofessional and inappropriate. My birth plan is none of her business, and certainly not something to be met with fear-mongering or judgment -- especially from a clinic I had never even visited. Instead of feeling supported, I left the call shaken and uncomfortable. After discussing it with my husband and doula, I decided to cancel my appointment. To make matters worse, she later called back insisting that I hadn't met my out-of-network deductible -- something I knew for a fact wasn't true. After double-checking with my insurance provider, it turned out she was wrong and there was a glitch in their system, but she was combative and insistent on the phone. Ultimately, the entire interaction left me with a very negative impression. I was hoping to find a supportive, professional acupuncturist in the neighborhood, but instead I felt judged and unwelcome before even stepping foot in the clinic."

"I love Comuni Acupuncture! Everyone there is amazing from the wonderful acupuncturists to reception it's a pleasant exploration from booking to the treatment. I've been too Miriam and Millie, you can't go wrong with either choice for a treatment. The space is clean and quiet, a nice lil piece of mind for yourself to feel refreshed and in touch with your body."

"I have minor pain in my lower back and sharp pain in my foot. I have done 5 sessions so far with Gabriela. Treatment has included acupuncture with and without electrical stimulation, cupping, and ear seeds. So far, my pains have subsided. After a treatment, the muscles in my back are much less tense, like I had a light massage. I have done acupuncture before so there was no hesitation in trying Comuni. If you are new to it, it is worth a try. Gabriela is very gentle and explains what she is doing. The office is quiet and clean."
