"Dr. Mont replaced my right hip in 2008. He did an excellent job, using a ceramic femoral head and a heavily cross-linked polyethylene acetabular cup insert, before this setup was the standard of care. It has now been 17 years, and the hip shows minor wear. I have returned to cycling and skiing in the big mountains of Utah, Montana, Colorado, and Patagonia. I never think about the hip he replaced. He did a great job and works on the cutting edge of technology. I would use him again."

"Dr. Mont is a competent, no nonsense and careful surgeon who is well regarded and in high demand. I would have rated him higher were it not for the apparent incompetence and or sensitivity of his office or operation. As I type this I am waiting over two hours for a post op appointment and there has been no explanation for the delay except that he has been busy. Dr Mont is good, but I would recommend finding someone else as good if that is possible."

"At the time I came to the ER it was quite fast and I had a few issues with the ER staff, but once I had my X-ray done they moved very swift and I was to leave in 1 hour, so the whole ER was less than 3 hours and that was very nice. Once they knew Dr. Mont was my doctor the entire team was very responsive and took care of all me needs. Before I ever met Dr. Mont I got great reviews from everyone who I spoke to about him. Many of my friends have been treated by Dr. Mont and have been very pleased with their care provided by Dr. Mont. My friends and myself trust Dr. Mont and he is the only doctor I trust with treatment of my joints. In the recovery room they were very nice, nursing staff was so happy to me and so dedicated, it was late in the evening and they were still gave me all the help I needed. They were always there with a smile and so helpful with my care. Dr. Mont's office is very efficient, helpful, personable and knowledgeable and they answered all of my questions and they were very patient with me. I would recommend family and friends to experience this kind of patient care if you have a problem with your hip or knee."

"Dr. Mont was one of the biggest mistakes I have made. I asked if he did an anterior approach hip replacement and he assured me that he did. However, I was shocked when my incision indicated a lateral approach that he had never mentioned to me. As a matter of fact, he didn't come to see me in pre op. I didn't see him until two days later when he came to discharge me. I was given very few post op instructions and no home health care at all. The only instructions I was given was to put only 50% weight on the surgical leg and no physical therapy for five weeks. When I was still having pain months later, he was so arrogant and actually scolded me. He was more interested in what a great surgeon he proclaimed to be than in my lack of progress. I have had nerve pain ever since and had to undergo a hip revision because of a significant limb length discrepancy. My advice to anyone considering surgery by Michael Mont is DON'T! And here I am, over four years post surgery with chronic pain and I am so sorry that I didn't sue him for malpractice. My quality of life has changed dramatically thanks to him."

"Dr. Mont promised to perform one hip replacement and to reattach the other artificial hip joint. He did that but created a difference in the length of my legs, one of which is now turning out. He failed to respond to any of my concerns and lied to me about his abilities. Exercise extreme caution in submitting to this surgeon. The hospital does not adequately monitor his production line surgical team that operates without adequate supervision. My previous hip replacements had been very successful but I am now too old for a further revision, the need for which was necessitated solely by Dr. Mont's inattention."
