"I had an appointment with Dr. Douoguih at 20 weeks pregnant, experiencing severe knee and back pain. The appointment lasted for less than five minutes. He walked in with several colleagues, did not ask about my symptoms or what I had been going through, and simply confirmed it was knee pain before telling me there was nothing he could do. He recommended physical therapy and suggested I speak with my OB-GYN -- the very doctor who referred me to an orthopedic specialist in the first place, precisely because my pain was unusually severe for 20 weeks of pregnancy. This appointment was deeply disappointing and ruined my entire day. Physical therapy may be a reasonable suggestion, but the issue is that Dr. Douoguih made no effort to understand the underlying cause of my pain. A proper evaluation should have come first. What makes this even more frustrating is that the clinic already had my pregnancy information on file, as my OB-GYN is also part of MedStar. If an orthopedic consultation was not appropriate for a pregnant patient, I should have been informed before the appointment -- not after I had already made the trip. That would have saved me time, stress, and significant disappointment."

The entire staff from Linda who coordinates the scheduling of the surgery, to the person checking you in, to the nurses and anesthesiologists they all couldn't have been kinder or more professional. As excellent a surgeon as Dr. D. Is he is an even better person. The day after surgery after the nerve block wore off you couldn't have convinced me I even had surgery the day before.
