"On January 1, 2025, I took my daughters, aged 20 and 22, ice skating at Wollman Rink in New York City. The day began beautifully, but by 12:30, I experienced a serious mishap when I fell on the ice after my skate blade became lodged in a groove. I landed on my backside, using my left hand to break the fall, which resulted in a broken hand. The EMTs at the rink provided excellent care, and the EMS team that arrived was equally impressive. I was transported to Weil Cornell Hospital, where the staff was both kind and professional. Throughout January, I wore a short cast, but my fingers began to turn black, and I lost mobility. Upon returning for a follow-up, I met Dr. Save, whose compassion and expertise were remarkable. Within a week, he performed surgery to repair my hand, demonstrating incredible efficiency. I am immensely grateful for his care and feel fortunate that he was assigned to my case. As of February 23, 2026, I am typing again and have regained the ability to use my hand, even lifting weights. Dr. Save and his team have been outstanding, and I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone in need of a skilled surgeon. "Dr. SAVE has been a Guiding Light throughout my Medical Procedure at HSS. From the Very beginning...Dr. Save used the Word "Us" and Not "You"....which meant that we were In this together and partners...to Go forward. Dr. Save's Caring, Expertise, Participation and Completet Professionalism gave me a Comfort Level and the Support and Courage to face the challenges. "My husband and I feel fortunate to have found Dr. Save. We live in Rhinebeck, NY, so Dr. Save was a bit of a drive. He reconstructed my husband's shattered entire elbow joint. We booked two nights at the Helmsley Tower, connected with Cornell-Weil. The entire surgery experience was a "10", from staying at the Tower the night before, sharing the resources of HSS, NY Prebysterian, having the convenience of valet parking at Cornell-Weil, to Dr. Save and his entire team. On our first visit to Dr. Save for an assessment, my husband had extremely high glucose levels on our ride home. Dr. Save called us as we traveled home that evening, warning of the high levels. He called us once we arrived home to ensure we addressed the situation with insulin. He also advised we go to our local ER for a check. While at the hospital, he called again (8-9 pm?) to ensure that my husband was okay and being admitted to address the diabetic ketoacidosis. As a surgeon, Dr. Save went above and beyond. Dr. Save warned that reconstructing the elbow joint involved a high risk of infection. Because of his high level of consideration, care, and analysis of all options, his nurse reported to us that he has never had a patient who developed an infection. I experienced Dr. Save as being pragmatic, cautious, experienced, realistic, honest, a GREAT communicator. We found his office manager, Jonathan, as well his nurses and support staff to be exceptional, and I believe that emanates from the top down. Thanks to Dr. Save, my husband will have almost full use of his arm/elbow and that reality was very uncertain at the time of his injury. Highly recommend."
