"I was told at my 3.5 hour evaluation that the doctor could take over all my medications and give me any trigger point injections and epidurals that I needed. Went back for another evaluation, requested by Shirley Ryan, after I had to be hospitalized for pain control. Shirley Ryan doctor then retracted everything that they said they could do for me originally and told me to come back in 3 months for a boot camp rehabilitation. Would never recommend going there and wasting your time of day."

"I was treated there in June 2018. I left the program early. My doctor was Dr. Randy Callisoff. Prior to starting the program, in my first appointment with Dr. Callisoff, he insinuated that I had a drug problem. My intuition was telling me this is not the place for me and I should have listened. I was suffering terrible anxiety because of the onset of new symptoms in regards to my cervical and myofascial pain symptoms and Dr. Callisoff made me feel worse for reasons that I do not wish to go into here. Aside from a few staff members who seemed to genuinely want to help it was a cold and restrictive environment. Nothing I would associate with helping people manage pain. My whole experience at Shirley Ryan Ability Lab was awful and I left with more physical and emotional pain than when I started a large deductible. The price tag for this program is not cheap. My family who watched my decline can certainly attest to that. I open this wound now because of shocking news I just discovered. I certainly hope the program has made changes since then because people do need help . I find it ironic I was told I needed a psychiatrist by this physician. My question is, why is this profile still here?"

"This facility needs to be investigated!! Waited over 6 months (2 different times) for a pain management evaluation. The day before my appointment I was called by the scheduling department to tell me my insurance wasn't accepted. I had spent the previous day confirming that IT WAS! After multiple phone calls, and speaking with a ridiculous number of people, I was forced to cancel my appointment because this facility is too lazy to verify insurance coverage and benefits! They will only accept you if they are able to bill your insurance for services you don't even need! Definitely something going on here! Sad!"

"After 8 years of chronic pain, everyone had convinced me I needed to see a pain doctor. I've had very little responses to traditional therapy methods. I found it humorous at best when Dr. Calisoff told me "you cannot make any progress with chronic pain without seeing a therapist". Not sure why I was shocked by this black and white statement, it fully encompasses the problems with western medicine and its closed-minded thought-processes. Am glad I didn't qualify for the pain program.. I didn't know the only thing offered here was 5 days a week of inpatient-type therapy in a hospital downtown."

"I was referred here by a pain management doctor trying to pass me on to someone else. I was told that I did not qualify for the pain management program and had to change my existing medications to join.- still this Dr. has not agreed to take on my care. Dr. seen made me wait 3 8-week periods , 24 weeks(seems excessive considering the treatment is for pain management?) Was given physical therapy, only after I begged to see a specialist did I get a referral. 5 months paying a dr. for visits telling me to wait another 8 weeks. Physical therapists are amazing just don't hold your breath trying to join a program."

I have not found a more caring and helpful group of Drs. and professionals in my years battling chronic illness and pain. They treat the whole person and have many new and different approaches to treating chronic pain. I highly recommend this clinic if you are struggling with chronic pain."

"Pain clinic has no proticals for opioid weaning and put me into paralytic shock with no Dr's. Oversight. A very dangerous place being run by a physical therapist."
