Testimonials

Andrew Ritger

"Eric is hands down the best PT I have ever worked with. He understood what my needs were from the initial intake and then we mapped out a short and long term plan. Dry needling immediately addressed a chronic problem I had for years and the exercise plan increased mobility and made me feel the best I ever have. I recommend this clinic to everyone I know; easily the best PT clinic in Chicago. Everyone I talk to says the same thing."

"I've been working with Ashley at Excel regarding some back and knee pain for the past several weeks and it's veen a great experience. The treatment at Excel is very hands-on and focused. Ashley does a great job explaining what causes different kinds of pain which makes it easier to understand what different treatments are trying to achieve and properly incorporate new movement and exercises into your daily life."

"I've been going to EXCEL Physical Therapy on and off for over a year. Eric is absolutely amazing and truly listens and cares. I've gone to him for Dry Needling and it worked miracles on my arm, and back. I recommend him to EVERYONE. Not to mention, his facility is insanely clean and organized."

"I love Excel PT! Dr Eric Hughes and the staff are experts in care. Attentive, knowledgeable and generous with their time, I feel much better after treating a decade-old calf injury that prevented me from running long distances. They also helped me with a shoulder issue that was onset by heavy lifting. The place is always immaculate, there's easy street parking nearby, and my care is generally seamless...can't recommend this clinic enough!"

"I cannot say enough good things about Excel Physical Therapy and my pt, Mary (Ashley), in particular. I would give more than five stars if I could! First, unlike other pt companies, Excel values and prioritizes patient care to the point that each pt is working with only one patient each session. I've been to at least three other pt offices in the last few years and have had good things to say about them too, but none of them match Excel's commitment to specific patient needs. It showed in the quality of care I received: my pt Mary was able to observe small details in my form and give me feedback to improve. She also had time to develop bespoke exercises tailored to my needs. Mary is knowledgeable, professional, empathetic, and met me where I was in terms of my therapy needs. I went in for shoulder pain and mid-way through my program I had to add thoracic spine strengthening to my care plan. Mary expertly worked through both of my challenges and eventually identified exercises that targeted both issues simultaneously. She started me off carefully as I needed but evolved my care plan over time to match my progress week by week. By the time I was done, I had regained my confidence and strength and was back in the gym doing workouts, which was my goal. My back has never felt better and my shoulder pain is gone. Mary is also a delightful, joyful person, which I appreciated! They also have an easy-to-use online system to book your own appointments when it is convenient for you. It even prompts you if a waitlist opportunity becomes available to select. When this system does not meet your needs, the pt provides excellent logistical support as needed, so you're never left hanging."

"Best physical therapy experience I have ever had, and I've had more than a few. Ashley is incredibly supportive and adaptable to my day to day progress. The facility is spotless and fully equipped. I'm so grateful for all the progress I have made."

"I cannot recommend Dr. Eric Hughes highly enough! As someone who has worked with several physical therapists over the years, Dr. Hughes truly stands out for his exceptional patient care and dedication. What sets Dr. Hughes apart is the genuine one-on-one time he provides each client. Unlike other practices where you might feel rushed or like just another number, Dr. Hughes takes the time to really understand your specific needs and concerns. He's an excellent listener who pays attention to the details of how you're feeling and what's working (or not working) in your treatment. His patient-centered approach makes all the difference in the healing process. You can tell he genuinely cares about helping each person achieve their best possible outcome. The personalized attention and thoughtful treatment plans have made a significant impact on my recovery. If you're looking for a physical therapist who will truly invest in your care and treat you as an individual, Dr. Hughes is the one to see. Highly recommended!"

"If you are doing research for your next PT, you can stop here! Eric is fantastic! Knowledgable, friendly, easy to talk to, and has great music in his facility. I have seen him for two injuries and was VERY pleased with my recovery results. PT only works when you do it outside of your appointments and what I really enjoyed about seeing Dr. Hughes was the validation and positive reinforcement I received on a weekly basis as we started seeing noticeable improvement."
