Testimonials
"I've been seeing Sean for TMJ physical therapy for several years, and he's truly been a game-changer. From the very first visit, his kind and compassionate approach made me feel at ease. Having struggled with jaw issues for as long as I can remember, Sean has provided both relief and understanding. He is not only highly professional but also genuinely caring, always taking the time to listen. His new space in the Roland Park Wyndhurst Building is calming and welcoming. Even when I'm stressed, Sean's relaxed energy helps me feel grounded, and I always leave feeling better both physically and mentally. I always look forward to our sessions and highly recommend him--he's the GOAT!"
"Highly recommended! I'd been having shoulder pains for many years, getting bad enough it affected my sleeping. I was pretty sure it was related to playing Uilleann pipes (piper's shoulder?), but I thought it might be arthritis, torn rotator cuff, bursitis or something worse. Sean pretty quickly narrowed the diagnosis down to muscle trigger points and came up with some very effective and simple treatments. I only wish I'd thought to visit Sean decades ago to address this problem! I thought it was particularly helpful that Sean is himself a musician and can approach physical therapy from a musician's perspective -- he gave me a few good ideas about how to adjust my physical playing style to help with my shoulder."
"Sean is a very helpful physical therapist. I went to see him for neck and back pain, and for scar tissue hearing post-surgery. He provided a comprehensive explanation for the chronic pain I experience in my neck and back, and gave me a treatment plan to best manage the pain. During sessions he also provided manual physical therapy to the impacted areas. He is the first PT I have seen that spends the entire session 1:1 with you as the patient, and it really makes a big difference in the care I received."
"Sean is one of the best physical therapists I have ever encountered. As someone with hypermobile EDS, I've experienced chronic pain and multiple injuries throughout my life. I initially started seeing Sean for my TMJ, which was causing extreme discomfort. Before receiving care from Sean, I didn't fully understand the impact of muscle tension and how it amplifies pain. Sean has not only taught me exercises and skills to manage my pain, but he has also utilized dry needling, cupping, and manual manipulation to improve it. Additionally, he has educated me about the different muscles in the body using diagrams, helping me visualize and understand trigger points. Sean is not only knowledgeable but also incredibly kind. He genuinely cares about his patients and their well-being. I cannot thank Sean enough for improving my quality of life. I highly recommend visiting Sean at his practice, Birch Tree Physical Therapy and Wellness."
"I can't recommend Birch Tree Physical Therapy and Wellness enough. Sean has been a tremendous help in relieving my TMJ pain, which had been causing constant earaches, headaches, and difficulty eating. From day one, the quality of treatment has been phenomenal. Sean used dry needling and manual massage techniques to help my jaw unclench, and was very kind and attentive throughout my treatment. He was detailed in his answers to my questions and always made me feel comfortable. He also was flexible in adjusting the dry needling vs manual massage ratio depending on my sensitivity that day. It's difficult to find such good care, especially for TMJ/TMD pain, and I'm incredibly grateful for the relief and support I've received from Birch Tree PT. As I walk out of the office two months later, I feel like a new person, and I'm able to get back to life as normal. Highly recommend!!"
"Sean is a wonderful physical therapist. He works not only with his hands but also with his heart. He has helped me improve my low back and arm pain so much. As a musician, he has been such a tremendous support keeping my body in shape so I can enjoy playing at my gigs pain free. Since I have started seeing him (only a month ago), I have had tremendous improvement in my pain level and intensity. Thank you Sean, you are amazing. Strongly recommended. A+++++"
"I have had a great experience working with Sean for headaches and TMJ pain. I started dry needling as a treatment with him for frequent headaches and TMJ pain. The dry needling has made a significant difference in my pain levels and reduced the frequency and severity of my headaches. After just a few sessions, I noticed a huge improvement in both my headaches and jaw pain. Sean is knowledgeable, and takes the time to explain the process thoroughly. I highly recommend him for anyone dealing with similar issues!"
"As a new mom, I was experiencing pain from a sudden onset of jaw clenching. Another clinician recommended Sean at Birch Tree Physical Therapy and I'm so glad they did! I feel better, but more importantly, Sean gave me the tools to help heal myself when jaw pain and tension increases. Sean is knowledge, kind, and patient. His practice is peaceful, clean, and welcoming. I love being able to book online and he takes my insurance which is great. I've already recommended his practice to others. Highly recommend!"
