"Today, I had my first session with Dr. Ali Zhang at "Spring Oriental Medicine"! I've been having issues with Lower Back Pain and Hypertension, and since I turn 68 on Monday, I guess that's to be expected. Arriving at her practice located at 1819-1821 W. Belmont Avenue, I found the atmosphere to be warm, inviting, and conducive to the internal journey I experience during Acupuncture. Dr. Zhang proved to be a very professional and thorough interviewer, asking a variety of questions regarding many aspects of my health, both past and current. She then had me perform several movements to ascertain how the pain may be impacting and limiting normal function. After this, Dr. Zhang inspected my pulses and my tongue, before finally creating a personalized treatment plan for me. After applying the needles, Dr. Zhang allowed me a period of about 30 minutes alone, during which I listened to pleasant Asian music before drifting off to a peaceful and surprisingly restorative nap. I awakened at some point while Dr. Zhang was removing the last few needles. I left Spring Oriental Medicine feeling relaxed, recharged, and, most importantly, pain-free. My pain had been in the 4-5/10 range when I had arrived. So, if you're dealing with back or any other pain issue, I highly recommend that you visit Dr. Zhang. You won't be disappointed."
