Testimonials
"I've been coming here for pelvic floor therapy throughout my pregnancy and now during my postpartum recovery, and I truly can't say enough positive things about my experience. Shruti has been my therapist, and she is exceptional. She is professional, compassionate, thoughtful, and incredibly skilled at what she does. And also has a good sense of humour! I genuinely credit her with helping me achieve such a smooth birth and an easier recovery than I ever expected. I truly believe that without this therapy, my birth experience could have been very different--possibly even resulting in a C-section. Her guidance, support, and expertise made such a meaningful difference. Thank you to Shruti and the entire wonderful staff who supported me through pregnancy and postpartum. No matter what kind of day I'm having, I always leave feeling better thanks to Shruti and the kindness of everyone there."
"To Whom it May Concern; I would like to compliment all the individuals "SPEAR" employs, from the polite and efficient Desk Staff to the PT's and the OT's and to the Staff that Assist theTherapists. The SPEAR location @ 57 W.57th Street, NY, NY, in particular, my PT Elana Levine and my OT Danielle Lynn have just been unbelivable ! Elana took me from a completely limited condition of not even being able to put on my Suit Jacket to feeling no pain, what-so-ever, and all of this in less than 3 months. Despite other doctor's previous recommendations to have injections and possible surgery, Elana chose to use her hands-on skills of massage and very carefull manipulation and recommending specific exercises to slowly bring back usage of my right shoulder and arm. I didn't think it possible. Danielle, at the same time was remarkably patient with the dibilitating Arthritis I had in both thumbs. She was attentive to the limitations I brought with me to SPEARS. Her patience and attention to detail brought back usage of both of my hands and today I can almost keep up with responding to my daily required 50 emails. lol. Simply put, I've been to PT's and OT's in the past, but both Elana and Danielle have made all the difference with the successful recovery of my Shoulder and My Hands. The professional and personal skills they both possess are 2nd to none. Thank you SPEAR, thank you Elana and thank you Danielle. I truly never thought the mobility would return, but it did. Bill G."
"Spear 57 is a joyful place to overcome pain. I came here 3 weeks before my first marathon, and Jessica Ippolito and the incredible Spear 57 team took care of me -- not just my knee!! - before, and most importantly, for weeks after this (ridiculous) self-inflicted bucket list item. I've done a few stints of PT before, but this place stood out -- where else do you show up on a random Wednesday in October to find the entire team joyfully observing Pajama Day?! Tim's magenta silk tracksuit threw me off for just a second, but the diligence and commitment to excellence of everyone I interacted with never flagged. Later that week? Twins day! Adorable. I learned new exercises, I did old exercises in novel, thoughtful, and safer ways, my programs were always different and never boring. Every session, Jessica listened patiently to my ramblings and "converted" our chats into an exercise prescription that made sense, made me stronger, and effectively loaded to improve my range and strength. If I was able to articulate my discomfort at any point, Jessica was able to adjust the exercise and my form to overcome it -- often the adjustments were shockingly minor, their impact: shockingly magical. There is one incredible thing about this practice that I've never experienced before: this team works like a TEAM. Jessica would start me off, and the second I was finished with my set and my equipment (and sometimes a second before that), Tim or Anaya or Khyati would swoop in, ready to take me to the next step. Every single person who worked with me was friendly, empathetic, professional, attuned to my symptoms and dedicated to my progress. They seem to have an almost telepathic connection and would shoot these piercing glances to each other across the room, and instantly I'd get my new demo, my new "3 sets of 10". One dream one team, a "collaborative environment", a "well-oiled machine", -- whatever you want to call it, this Spear PT team is incredible: kind, caring, knowledgeable, fun, effective and efficient mind reading wizards - plus an awesome vibe. I'm still working on things -- now on my own -- but should I ever need more support, I know I'll back. People walk in through those doors in pain, functionally diminished, seeking relief -- and walk out empowered, stronger , and with a smile on their faces. Thank you!"
