"Tl;dr: Thank you Ean! I could not have had a better experience with the doctors, nurses, support staff, and especially the physical therapists at this facility. I had major knee surgery last year at medstar Lafayette which included six months of intensive PT. Ean Roche, the physical therapist to whom I was assigned, was the key figure in essentially a life changing surgery that enabled me to be mobile without pain. His holistic approach to practicing his craft was remarkable. In addition to helping me walk normally again through vigorous exercises, he also lifted my spirits at my lowest points (if you have ever lost your mobility, you'll know what I'm talking about) by engaging me with reading recommendations and healthy activities that took my mind off of the mental stress caused by not being able to walk. It was amazing. I had to put the work in, as one does in PT, but my outcome was outstanding because of Ean. I cannot thank him enough."

"I had an appointment at MedSTAR Health Orthopaedic and Sports Center with Dr. Murtaugh today. I had checked in online over the weekend but when I arrived at the office they said their computers were running slow and they could not see my online check in which was a bit frustrating to deal with upon arrival. That said, I was seen on time, and the staff were helpful and inquisitive about the reason for my visit. Dr. Murtaugh took the time to thoroughly review my MRI results and discuss everything with me in detail. He was kind, patient, and made sure all my questions were answered. Overall, aside from the check-in hiccup, it was a very positive experience. Also, if you are in need of a bite to eat they have a Farmer's Fridge vending machine just outside their door. Looks great!"

"Dr. Yadao is fantastic. From my initial visit, she was friendly, professional, and made me feel completely at ease. I was seen on time at both appointments. She ordered a CT scan to ensure there was no additional damage to the broken bone in my foot, since the injury occurred out of state and I had traveled back to DC by plane without proper footwear. Dr. Yadao clearly showed me the fracture on the X-rays and explained, in an easy-to-understand way, what had happened and how the bone was expected to heal. She also explained what to expect in terms of pain and swelling during recovery and answered all of my questions thoroughly. Her assistant, who was also very friendly and helpful, fitted me with the proper footwear. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. My follow-up visit with Dr. Yadao was just as positive, and my recovery has been smoother than expected thanks to Dr. Yadao's excellent care and guidance."

"The doctors who assisted me did not listen to me and then prescribed unneeded medicine and additional treatment that addressed my concern only superficially. I went to a specialist and I got lip service. They were unhelpful. This was a waste of my time and money. I have and continue to have very specific intermittent pain that has recurred several times over the last 18 months. I described my pain, in turn the doctors summarized my description differently from what I described. I had say, "you did not describe my condition". The pain had mostly subsided between my appointment and visit. (In 6 weeks, many things heal). The doctors seemed highly competent and had great experience, but that doesn't help if they don't listen or possibly don't care. The non-physician staff were polite and efficient. If you have a stress fracture, some issue that's clearly visible from an x-ray, I would expect them to be helpful. Otherwise pick another facility, some place where the physicians care."

"Tip top service. Tended to very quickly. Everyone from nurses, ex-ray techs, Dr. Yadao and her doctor in training were delightful and very knowledgeable. In and out in an hour and a half including ex-rays, exam, steroid shot, referral for physical therapy and handouts of exercises to help me. I will definitely use them in the future and for follow up care for my shoulder injury."
