"The administration staff and call center is not good here. I was admitted in the hospital sick with an illness and I had to miss my physical therapy appointments, I did call days before and let them know. Because I missed 2 visits the manager said I need to be "re-evaluated" again and go through a paperwork evaluation. When I ask to speak to a supervisor on the phone for a regular physical therapy appointment the supervisor said the following on the phone "Do you think this a gym here? This is not a gym you can't just come to whenever you want." I already have a planet fitness gym membership and previously had New York sports club and equinox gym memberships, I don't need a physical therapy center as a "gym." Especially this ratchet place. My MRI clearly shows I have damage on my spine and the doctor referred me to come here, yet the supervisor thinks I'm trying to use this place as a gym. Because of such rudeness and arrogance I went elsewhere and got better physical therapy. My back pain is now better. This place at NYP is not great and the supervisor is very rude. They only do exercises here and no massage or tens machine. I don't recommend this place at all and I hope NYP investigates the supervisor who was rude to me on the phone when I asked for an appointment and didn't want to do an unnecessary "re-evaluation." My new physical therapy place doesn't do these evaluations and they focus on genuine healing using exercises, posture, tens machine, technology devices stretches, massage gun, and massage and they never deny an appointment to any patients like NYP did to me."
"The administration staff here at NYP is very unprofessional and rude. They barely have any appointments available for weeks and when you didn't come to physical therapy for weeks because you were sick in the hospital and no appointments available they tell you that you have to be re-evaluated again and need to do a progress report. Very shady business the physical therapy here is a business transaction with paperwork more than actual treatment. They fill out forms here more then teach you exercises. There is only one good therapist here. I went elsewhere and am treated better with proper care."
"Someone needs to educate the sports medicine staff that MRI imaging changes dramatically from 3 months post muscle tear to 8 months and beyond. It took two years from the time of my calf muscle tear that healed incorrectly and four doctors (two from NY Presbyterian) to finally get a second MRI referral and I have muscle atrophy and now chronic edema in my leg. I'm working with HSS to get my condition under control, but had the doctors at NY Presbyterian treated my situation correctly, it wouldn't have progressed as much as it had."
