"Dr. Murphy is an amazing doctor. From the way he speaks with me, to the little jokes he cracks he always made me feel comfortable. When he saw how bad my knee was and the pain I was in, he got me into surgery faster than I ever expected. I feel good after surgery with less pain. He is compassionate and experienced in the care he gives. I definitely recommend Dr. Murphy to any who needs orthopedic care."

"Dr. James Murphy is an amazing doctor, when I got admitted to the ED for a broken ankle, he decided to do my surgery early to get it out of the way; which was awesome. However, the two stars are mainly for his office. He says to call his office to make an appointment. You think it would be as simple as just a phone call right? Nope! You can call his office for 2 hours straight and no one will answer. I tried calling to reschedule my appointment 3 hours before my appointment time. I called a total of 24 times within the span of 2 hours - absolutely ZERO answer. They don't even check their voicemail because I left one after the first 4 times I tried calling. No call back at all. How do they expect me to make or adjust an appointment when it's literally impossible to? I live an hour away from his office (due to the location of the accident, I would've gone to a closer hospital if I could), so I'm not gonna drive an hour just to make one appointment, then drive an hour all the way back home..makes no sense. Assuming this is an on-going problem, based on the past years of reviews, I believe this problem will continue and there won't be a fix..."

"Dr Murphy is a very good doctor. I've had 3 different ortho surgery and all where a great success, however trying to get ahold of his office is nearly impossible. I've been trying to schedule a follow up for a partial hip replacement for 2 weeks left many messages with no return calls. He needs a better way of doing business ."

"Dr. Murphy is amazing! He listened and HEARD me! He helped me with my knee replacement and an ongoing shoulder issue! His staff is wonderful! They have been accommodating and helpful with getting my appointments as I travel from another state over 4 hours one way just to see him! He is worth any wait time because he will answer all of your questions too when it is your turn!"

"Dr. Murphy's office process for setting appointments or getting an opportunity to talk with him is HORRIBLE. You call and call and cannot even speak with someone on the phone. You must leave a message and hope they return your call. My experience was that after three attempts to reach Dr. Murphy and his office staff on 3 separate days, there was NO follow-up by their office and no return phone call to set a return appointment. Dr. Murphy put a soft cast on my husband and it needed to be replaced with a hard cast; however, we could not, after MANY attempts to reach him or his office, ever get a return call to set an appt to replace the soft cast w/a hard cast. RICIDULOUS!!!!!!!"

"Like any doctor you should have an appointment and you may wait but as in any business things happen. He did a total knee replacement on me I still have some pain but nothing like before and I don't fall anymore. Before my knee was giving out and I would fall and hurt myself worse then the knee pain. I was bruised everywhere. I was afraid to walk anywhere. Dr Murphy cares for all his patients."

"I am a very happy and confident in Dr. Murphy's knowledge and compassion. Dr. Murphy has treated me for several shoulder fractures as well as a successful total knee placement. He has nice personality and bedside manor. I strongly recommend Dr. Murphy."

"Dr is fabulous, when you finally get to see him. Slightly arrogant, but show me a surgeon that isn't. Office staff are slow, and sometimes rude, and aloof. Dr runs on his own clock, we've waited 90 minutes on average before we get to a room, and another 20 before he makes his grand entrance. Never once has he been apologetic about wait times or offered to do better. Poor hand hygiene, and when called out on it he said "I'm old school"."
