"I scheduled an appointment specifically to review my MRI results and discuss ongoing pain after receiving an injection from a previous provider. 3 days before my appointment, the office called to cancel because the doctor had reviewed my results and decided she had "nothing else to offer." I was not given the opportunity to meet with her, ask questions, or receive a proper explanation about my condition or why no further treatment was recommended. Canceling a patient's appointment at the last minute without allowing them to discuss their own medical results is unacceptable and highly unprofessional. Even if no additional treatment is available, patients deserve a consultation, clear communication, and basic respect. This experience left me feeling dismissed and discriminated. HSS is a reputable center, they shouldn't allow that kind of behavior."

"I've been to several excellent doctors at HSS over the years, so I looked to them for a pain management doctor for my recently diagnosed sciatica. On Monday, February 2nd, I called HSS Midtown and received an appointment with Dr.Siddiqui for Wednesday, Feb. 18th , which I accepted even though it meant several more nights with only 3or 4 hours of sleep. In desperation, I called Dr. Siddiqui's office on Thursday, 2/5, to see if there might be an earlier appointment time available. The gentleman with whom I spoke said the doctor had some time on Tues, Feb. 12th at 10:40, which I immediately and gratefully accepted. I immediately canceled a back-up appointment I had with a doctor at another hospital. Then today, Friday, 2/6, I get a call from her office cancelling my appointment and stating that she thinks I should see a physiatrist!! This is absolutely outrageous behavior from someone who purports to be a healing professional!! I believe the cancelation itself was unwarranted, given she has never seen me or spoken with me about my pain. But to cancel on a Friday, with all facilities closed for 2 days, shows a totally uncaring person. The Hospital for Special Surgery has a great reputation that needs to be preserved, and unfortunately this kind of behavior does not accomplish that."
