Testimonials
"Dr. Pournaras is phenomenal. I had a broke thumb and visited multiple doctor but my friend recommended me to visit him and get his opinion. I am so glad I did that because he found out that I have fractured my thumbs in two places and need to put a cast. I had to replace my cast and he was so cool about it. Thid place has its own imaging and physical therapy centers in house... staff are amazing... thank you "
"Wonderful staff, everyone made me feel comfortable and like I'm in good hands and Dr. Park was patient and explained everything till I understood."
"I needed rehab on my hands after a slow recovery form Carpal Tunnel Surgeries. Kim and Colin gave perfect attention and helped me to progress quicker than I thought I would with my 76 year old hands. Colin's very deep massages greatly reduced the scar tissue in both hands and helped strengthen an arthritic join in one hand. Kim used a multiple array of various devices to find what worked best for my specific needs. Also, they both were very engaging and I felt like I had their total focus. I wholeheartedly recommend using this office."
"Dr. Pournaras and his team did an amazing job on my wrist surgery. The incision looks amazing. David Parks always cared of my concerns. I also appreciate Mr. Parks for keeping a smile on face during this entire procedure. I want to thank everyone from the front desk receptionist and the entire surgical team for a job well done "
"I would very very highly recommend Dr. Pournaras and his professional staff at Fair Oaks Orthopedics for any surgical procedures in his expertise! Dr. Pournaras and staff are exceptionally intelligent, extremely experienced, and very highly skilled; all around outstanding! I count myself very lucky to have found and used his services for two carpal tunnel surgeries and two shattered right wrist surgeries in the last two years, the second wrist surgery a necessity to remove my plate and screws and to address other issues. Dr. Pournaras was also extremely compassionate and able to related the surgical facts of my cases in a serious, honest, technical yet understandable manner. I was extremely fortunate to have the extreme pleasure of having him as my surgeon four times!!! He is a very superior orthopedic surgeon with specialities including hand/wrist surgeries!!! The hand therapist, Jacqueline Kress with Fair Oaks Physical and Occupational Therapy is also highly skilled, very experienced, empathetic, very specialized, and individualizes her hand therapy!"
"Everything about my experiences w Fair Oaks Ortho has been positive. I have been a fan for over 3 years now and every conversation, be it with Dr. Pournaras or his PA, David has been consultative and covered the pros and cons of options. I highly recommend this practice."
"Horrible experience!!! VERY unprofessional! You deserve better patient care!! My appointment was with Dr. Pournaras. However, when I went to my appointment, I was first seen by two medical assistants. After explaining the ongoing issue I have been dealing with, they left and the Physicians Assistant came in. Again, I explained the entire issue to him. We briefly discussed the general options for a treatment plan (even though there were many uncertainties) and he left. The plan was to give the issue more time to heal and come back in 3 months. When I went to check out, I mentioned to the front desk that my appointment was with Dr. Pornaras, but I was seen by the PA. At first, she didn't believe me. Then she said it was "weird" because I was on Dr. Pournaras' schedule. I left, but as I was driving home, it really started to bother me that I was going to have to pay a $120 copay and I didn't even see the doctor! I called the office and spoke to the person in charge of billing. I explained what happened and she was very understanding and said she agreed that what happened was not ok. I told her I understand that sometimes things happen and I am not unreasonabe. But what realy bothered me is that NO ONE ACKNOWEDGED THAT MY APPOINTMENT WAS WITH DR. PORNARUS, YET THE PHYSICIANS ASSISTANT SAW ME. I postponed my return trip to NC to see the doctor. I needed a 2nd opinoin about an ongoing issue with my thumb after an accident 9 months ago. If someone woud have said that for whatever reason the doctor coudn't see me, I would have understood. I might have been disappointed, but I would have understood. But they never said a word about the PA taking my appointment instead of Dr. Pornaras. I told the billing person that I thought the whole thing was handled very poorly and that I did not want to pay the $120 copay when I didn't see the doctor and they did not do anything to my finger. She understood, and said she would talk to the doctor and call me back. She did call me back within a few mintues. She said that Dr Pornaras he coud see me if I wanted to come back now!! I laughed out loud. I said, "I had an appointment with him this morning! He didn't see me! My time is just as valuabe as his." His office is in Fairfax and I was now in Springfield, heading back to NC. I told her there was no way I could go all the way back and I wouldn't, out of principle. She said my options were to go back, or not be charged for the appointment I had with the PA. I said, I was not going back and do not charge me for the appointment either. She then went on to say that Dr. Pornaras said if I didn't go back and was not being charged for my appointment, HE WOULD CANCEL MY FOLLOW UP APPOINTMENT SCHEDULED IN JUNE! Needless to say, I said, no problem, cancel my follow up visit. I can easily find another hand specialist. Not sure who he thinks he is, but his TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL behavior and comments are unacceptable. This is the way he treats his patients?? Horrible experience!! Save yourself the time and trouble. I deserve better patient care and so do you!!"
"Dr. Pournaras, and his staff, are exceptional. Take the time to answer all questions and discuss various treatment options. I would not trust my ortho issues to anyone else."
