Testimonials

Maisa Rouzer

"I've been going to Dr Akin since he started right out of school. Since I've moved out of state, but always make an appointment part of the trip back to Chicago. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable he keeps ahead of the pack with education & it translates to treatment of the patient. The Kenilworth office is really nice! You will certainly receive great care here."

"I've started to look at my life as: before I met Dr. Josh and after. Dr. Josh may be the smartest person I ever met. I've spent 18 years post rugby/football career with spina bifida/a fusion between my L4 and L5. I've been to doctors, specialty and PTs that all tried their best. But now, after just weeks of seeing Josh, I go 3-5 days at a time without even thinking about my back (pain, not being able to bend, etc). Josh has an uncanny ability to understand you and your biomechanics by simply observing you. He combines years of experience with an absolutely insatiable appetite to fully understand the human body with a kind/progressive demeanor. I know it will come off as sensational, but I told him this the other day, and stand by it: I've never met a professional that understands the human body more, that if he told me to jump off a bridge today, I'd find the nearest bridge (and likely solve some other bodily issue while doing it). Josh is a saint. His credentials are readily available (including his work with professional ball clubs), takes all the standard insurance (I honestly was worried most after seeing him that my bill would be in the thousands given his quality of care, but, with my insurance ended up like 35 bucks out of pocket) and is in a super convenient area (essentially grand and Ashland, very close to both 94 and 290). I never do this, but I've also never met a medical pro like Dr. Josh...if you're like me, and feel "you've tried everything" and nothing seems to work, at least meet with Josh. I promise you, you'll come out feeling like you have a legit plan to get your life back."

"I had a bad case of tennis/golf elbow that was diagnosed by my first specialist as inflammation. Three months of rest and treatment made no improvement, so I sought a recommendation from a friend and was referred to visit Myles Nagel at CCS. Myles took his time analyzing the injury and diagnosed it was a tendinopathy, not inflammation. He explained that no amount of anti-inflammatory treatment would make any improvement, but that there was a combination of treatment and various of strengthening exercises that could improve my elbow. Over the course of a couple months, my elbow steadily improved and now feels back to 100%. He truly cared about fixing the entire issue, which was impacted by shoulder and wrist stability, as well as mobility. Myles never felt rushed, followed up between appointments with different exercise videos and instructions, and genuinely wanted to improve my elbow pain so that it never recurred. I'd return to him in a heartbeat if I need to in the future, but he did such a good job that it might be awhile."

"Dr. Nagel was instrumental to my recovery and getting back to being active. He thoroughly explained the causes of my back pain and provided helpful exercises and stretches for relief and strength training. I am running better than ever now!"

"After about 10 months of trying other methods, including physical therapy and other chiropractors, Myles was able to help my back pain within a week. I was back to playing basketball within 3 weeks - I would recommend Myles to anyone with any type of injury."

"I would highly recommend that if you are in pain or are seeking a better way to live or perform that you contact Dr. Josh at Chicago Chiropractic & Sports Medicine. I write this review after having met Dr. Josh at a seminar for chiropractors, physical therapists, trainers, and sports professionals. In a room of highly educated professionals, Dr. Josh went out of his way to help a fellow sports professional (myself) that had a complicated problem that few seemed to fully understand or effectively treat. This inability to find effective treatment and make meaningful change has resulted in more than a decade of pain and has become a substantial drain on resources (money and time). Dr. Josh helped me to understand the root cause of my pain and gave me a plan to address the underlying issues (improper breathing and movement patterns as well as poor posture). In a way that, he helped restore my faith and determination. He truly made me believe that I can get better and that there are professionals out there that are willing to put themselves out there, reach deep, and lift those of us that need help, up. I don't know what more you could ask for in a health professional. If this review speaks to you, I hope you do seek Dr. Josh out and that he can help you to relieve your pain."

"Provided Temporary relief of neck pain. Billed my insurance company $225 for a half hour of treatment. Which is double the out of pocket payment for half hour treatment. Treatment provided no long term solution at a high expense. I spoke to a women named Nancy regarding the increased cost provided to my insurance company and she was unable to provide any clear reasoning for this or any resolution. Overall a negative experience would not recommend to anyone."

Lex Reed

"I worked with Myles to fix a shoulder issue preventing progress in my weightlifting program. He was great and my shoulder has never felt better."
