Testimonials

Zhatinae Adams

"I scheduled this appointment because I was told it was strictly for an MRI results reading. No one informed me ahead of time that I would first have to get an X-ray, which is crucial information I should have received when the appointment was booked. Because I believed it was only a results review, I scheduled during my kids' Christmas break and brought my three well-behaved children with me. When I arrived, I was suddenly told I needed an X-ray and that my children would have to sit alone in the lobby -- including my 10-month-old baby. I explained that I hadn't been told about the X-ray and asked to reschedule. The receptionist even asked if she could "watch" my baby. I politely declined. She seemed annoyed that I didn't agree, but my baby is only 10 months old -- if something happened, he couldn't even tell me. Expecting a parent to hand off their baby to a stranger felt completely inappropriate. While one assistant was trying to help reschedule my appointment, the assistant next to her took it upon herself to take pictures of my children on her personal phone -- without my knowledge and without my permission. This was shocking, frightening, and completely unacceptable. Photos of minors taken in a medical office can easily be copied, texted, uploaded, or stored -- and once that happens, you can't take it back. I had to confront her and ask her to delete the photos, and to this day I don't know whether they were deleted, saved, or shared. The idea that images of my children could be sitting on someone's personal phone or passed around is terrifying. When I questioned it, I was told the supervisor was expecting the photos so they could "see the waiting room crowd." That makes it worse -- because there were dozens of safer, proper ways to address crowding without photographing people's children and potentially circulating those images. No medical professional should ever be taking and sharing pictures of patients -- especially minors -- on personal devices. There are privacy rules and safety standards in place for a reason. Instead of acknowledging the seriousness of what happened, I felt dismissed and laughed at while I was visibly upset. This entire experience left me feeling unsafe, disrespected, and deeply concerned about what happens with patients' privacy here."
