Testimonials

Dan McDonald

"Chris is a skilled and compassionate practitioner of acupuncture. I have been seeing him for many months now. His knowledge of the human body and mind connection is extraordinary. No matter what issue I am dealing with, from back, shoulder and neck pain, to general stress and anxiety, I always find relief from my sessions with Chris. He has been particularly helpful in my return to full health from heart surgery. Beyond the needle work, he has excellent recommendations on natural, holistic options to health issues from herbs for sleep or energy, to blue light blocking glasses, grounding mats and the like for dealing with our highly stressful and environmentally challenged lives. I highly recommend Chris, especially if you are new to acupuncture."

"I have cerebral palsy which, especially recently, has been cramping up my right hand and walking gait. Sometimes I have almost no ability to move my legs or unclench my hand, which causes stress, furthering my inability to move. My therapist suggested that stress and anxiety could be contributors to my mobility issues and to try other novel methods of relaxation and meditation. Soon after, I saw an advert for Baltimore Acupuncture Center and thought, "Why not? Least it's across the hall from my office job, so minimal travel." I felt almost no pain when the needles were applied while some did give an interesting "shocking" effect upon insertion, as if it was a mini lightning strike to nearby nerves. I did feel many muscles tense up and hold for a few minutes, needle or no needle. After a bit, it was just a feeling of relaxation, close to the sensation you get when you start to doze off. After the first session, I was amazed I could move my hands and feet as normally as before. The sense of "calm" lingers on longer after each session as well as being a bit more mobile each week. While I did not know what it would be like initially, I look forward to the sessions now as a way to gather up the tension of life and let it go."

"Chris is an amazingly gentle and kind provider. He knows exactly what to do and how to help whatever condition you have. He also just has a great presence that makes you feel calm and safe. Having acupuncture with a male provider outside of a hospital could be concerning for females if you're not familiar with the clinic and this is not a clinic, But please be rest assured that this man is simply phenomenal. He listens and you feel heard and he has a wildly impressive skill set. The only reason I'm not giving you the five is because I think when people give five stars and then there's a lot of them it's not as believable. Also because it's a shared space I think that it should be perhaps a little nicer, he rents the place which is difficult if he doesn't have control over that. Course everything he uses is sterilized clean the massage table and the sheets whatever you come in to contact with I'm not saying it's dirty quite the opposite. Just an old building and I think that that would help if the landlord did a little bit of a cleanup on the paint and things like that. Another suggestion just directly to Chris which probably isn't even an issue these days but sometimes men wear shoes that make noise like women's heels, and I think when you have hardwood floors and a person is trying to relax as they're doing acupuncture that noise can be distracting though it's not a big deal. So either a carpet runner would be good for the hallway or change the shoes, but because I have anxiety for me it was helpful to hear he's coming except he could be going to different doors so it gets confusing. This is not something that matters I'm just saying my experience and of course I would give him 100 stars! Sure you're very open and honest about what your symptoms are because your diagnosis from doctors don't necessarily mean what it is that's going on and I think by providing more than less is very helpful!!!"
