"I am not usually one to write reviews, but I feel this clinic deserves special recognition for its exceptional care and dedication to patients. About 4.5 years ago, I began experiencing neck pain. My primary care doctor ordered X-rays and an MRI, which revealed no broken bones or other damage. I was treated with pain medications and steroids, but the pain persisted. I was then referred to Dr. Citow, a neurologist, who followed the same course of treatment with pain medication, antibiotics, and steroids during subsequent visits. Despite this, my pain remained stubborn, and relief was elusive. Dr. Citow eventually recommended upper cervical spine surgery. Seeking a second opinion, I consulted Dr. Yaacoub, who suggested a spinal injection. I agreed to this procedure, which was performed at Condell Hospital. It was quite painful, and while it provided some temporary relief, the pain soon returned, stronger than before. I also visited Dr. Winslow, a chiropractor, and underwent about nine therapy sessions, but unfortunately, there was no improvement. He mentioned surgery as well. Eventually, someone recommended the Global Institute, where I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Mehta. He reviewed my previous diagnoses, MRIs, and X-rays, and decided to try a different injection. After a long therapy process, I again saw no improvement. The pain had escalated to the point where I could barely turn my head, which hindered my ability to drive or work. The only medication that provided some relief was Ibuprofen, at a high dosage, which caused stomach aches. I felt trapped and fearful of the unknown; I was scared of surgery and felt hopeless about my situation. Finally, a family member recommended Dr. Albert Pawlusiewicz's clinic. By that time, I was in bad shape, suffering from neck pain, ear pain, tooth pain, and severe headaches, leaving me uncertain about which part of my upper body hurt the most. The acute pain was overwhelming, all stemming from my spine. I was assigned to Dr. Paulina, who carefully analyzed all my medical documentation and developed a treatment plan. She worked with me three times a week for 1.5 hours each session. I have to admit, some of the manual therapy was quite painful, but I persevered through eight sessions. Remarkably, my neck pain and discomfort in other areas diminished significantly--I estimate about a 90% improvement. It has been three months since my last treatment, and I am incredibly grateful. Dr. Paulina informed me that, while I do have some age-related degeneration, surgery is not necessary. My neck motion and stiffness are now manageable. I cannot express enough how thankful I am for the excellence and dedication shown by Dr. Paulina. Although I have never met Dr. Pawlusiewicz, I hope to do so in the future.
